The Retirees

A simple blog about the adventures of retired peoples .

We are a Canadian couple with a passion for travelling, but like most people, our vacations have consisted of a few weeks off a year in Montreal to see my family with the kids or a littles trip the kids will enjoy, like Disneyland.
We have two boys and one grandchild. The kids travel around the world at an early age and always tell us “you should go there”. My dream has always been to live someplace warm for six months of the year, but for the moment, I will travel as much as I can.

Besides travelling, I enjoy reading, photography, trying new programs for my pictures, making copper jewelry and working on my illustrations /paintings. You would say I am a Multi-Disciplinary Artisan.

How it all began...

I started this blog in early 2020 just before Covid hit us!! I want to share travel tips for baby boomers, retired people and newbies.
I am not an expert in blogging or a career traveller, far from it. I just have the desire to see the world. When we started travelling years ago, we made a lot of bad choices and a lot of mistakes. We had no clue how to plan a trip, and we still don’t, usually we just go. Most of our journeys are trips on the spur of the moment.
We got lost a few times walking all those little streets, got scammed once in Bangkok with fake money, and rent once the wrong place to stay.
I want to share what we did wrong so you will be prepared for your next voyage. Maybe you can learn from our mistakes.
Our travel adventures are international, domestic destinations, small cruises, and much more.
I can show you that travelling on a budget without breaking the bank is feasible and at the same time enjoying your trip.

Besides travelling, I enjoy reading, photography, trying new programs for my pictures, making copper jewelry and working on my illustrations /paintings. You would say I am a Multi-Disciplinary Artisan.

If you are unable to travel you can see places through my pictures
