About
Welcome to “Adventure And Retire”, the travel blog was created to inspire baby boomers, retired individuals and newcomers to explore the world safely, adventurously and affordably.
My name is Elaine and I am here to share my experiences and help you plan your next travel adventure.
Through our exciting and unforgettable experiences, we aim to inspire you to travel more and make the most out of your trips.
We have traveled internationally, domestically, on cruises, and we want to share our knowledge with you to help you avoid any mishaps during your travels.
As seasoned travelers, we had our fair share of mishaps.
Therefore, we share candid reviews of two/five-star hotels, cruises, and restaurants, highlighting our mistakes along the way.
We firmly believe that travel can be done on a budget without sacrificing enjoyment, and we are here to show you how.
About Me

Adventure And Retire
Some random fun facts about me:
The Important things:
I started this blog during Covid to share my love for photography and traveling. Through my lens, you can experience the places I’ve visited. My unique storytelling style and photos set my blog apart from others that focus on travel.
While I’m not a full-time traveler, I work from home on a small island in Montreal called Ile Perrot. I have a degree in Fashion and Flower Design and I completed a year of web design, though I only use the design part with Photoshop and illustrations.
I speak English and French and I am learning Spanish.
*I have two sons and one grandson.
*I have been traveling for over 40 years with the kids when they were younger.
*I am still an amateur traveler.
*When I don’t have anyone to accompany me, I usually travel with my two sisters.
The less important things:
* As a multidisciplinary artisan, I create various art forms such as copper jewelry, paintings, and more.
* My photography style is mainly focused on macro shots of flowers, architecture, and landscapes.
* I am passionate about creating illustrations and working with photos and computers.
* However, you won’t find many photos of me as I am not fond of being in front of the camera.
