Havana
The history of Havana is genuinely fascinating; you can find interesting museums, impressive restoration projects, and magnificent artistic and cultural heritage. Paintings, murals, Cuban music, rumbas, the wonderful feeling in the fun Havana streets, and the colourful murals will delight your senses.
With classic convertibles lining the streets, crumbling Spanish facades, and live street music on every corner, it’s no wonder it has become so popular with tourists worldwide.
Behind every corner, you will discover all this wonderful city can offer from the street.
One of the more attractive aspects of Havana is to see how everyday life pans out in the city: happy children playing baseball in the street, street troubadours, a group of people doing maintenance on a Plymouth from 1955 in the middle of the street…and above all, enjoying life.

The Castillo de la Real Fuerza Castle is an exemplary model of military architecture from Spain’s colonial period in the Caribbean. It is situated in the Plaza de Armas Square in Old Havana, facing the sea. The Castle, as well as the other fortifications in the old city, have been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Good To Know
*Safety
If you’re concerned about safety, it’s worth noting that Cuba is generally safer than many other countries, and I never felt unsafe there. However, petty theft can be a problem, particularly on the beach or in hotel rooms, so it’s best to take small preventative measures to avoid any trouble.
*Be Careful
You should also be aware that people on the beach may try to sell you various items, such as jewelry, clothes, or oil. They can be quite persistent, so be careful.
*Tipping
Tipping is not necessary, but a peso for the bartender is a courteous gesture. It’s also worth noting that drinking is free in Cuba.
If you’re Canadian, travelling to Cuba is relatively easy, but if you’re from the USA, you’ll need to research what you need to know before you go.
