How to achieve a visit in Venice in four short hours

As we arrived in Venice via the sea bus, the sight of the Grand Canal filled with boats of varying shapes and sizes welcomed us. The large cruise ships are no longer permitted to dock near Venice. Instead, they now dock in a shipyard early in the morning due to a ban that came into effect in August 2021.

Though the shipyard is not located within walking distance of Venice, a sea bus is available for transportation at a cost of 33 euros per person.

Step into the Romance of Venice - Take a walk through its charm and charisma.

It was a breathtaking experience as we explored the stunning city of Venice.

While wandering through its narrow alleyways and canals, we came across an abundance of fascinating landmarks.

The vibrant atmosphere of the city was palpable as we walked, filled with the locals and tourists alike. Everywhere we looked, there was something to marvel at, whether it was the small stores, the painter and his dog or the lively street performers entertaining the crowds. Take your time exploring the city and admire its beautiful canals, buildings, boats, shops, and footbridges.

Venice is a unique and beautiful city – you either love it or hate it. However, the crowds and the summer heat can be overwhelming at times. During our visit, we didn’t have the chance to visit any museums or other attractions due to the limited time we had.

Venice can be quite expensive, and it’s easy to fall for tourist traps. Instead of buying cheap souvenirs, opt for locally-made and authentic ones. If you’re planning to dine out, avoid fancy restaurants and look for places run by locals.

The footpaths and bridges were bustling with pedestrians. However, the boardwalk was crowded with vendors and “selfie people” who blocked the way, making it difficult to navigate.

Overall, our time in Venice was nothing short of magical and left us with unforgettable memories that we’ll cherish forever.

We wasted a lot of time by taking too long to return to the cruise ship. After taking the sea bus, we stopped at the terminal in Venice, got off and walked all the way to the other side to cross the border and go through customs.

Then, we had to take another sea bus to get back to the cruise ship. All of these activities took almost an hour, causing us to lose a significant amount of time from our visit onshore.

Despite this, our few hours in Venice surpassed our expectations and surprised us in unexpected ways.
