Visiting in January is an experience like no other, and it is sure to leave you with memories that will last a lifetime.

It is a beautiful and historic city located in eastern Canada, on the banks of the Saint Lawrence River. It is the capital of the province of Quebec and is known for its European charm, architecture, and rich cultural heritage.

Founded in 1608 by French explorer Samuel de Champlain, this is one of the oldest cities in Canada, and its Old Town has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city is home to many landmarks, such as the Château Frontenac, a grand hotel overlooking the river; the Citadelle, a fortress that has protected the city since the 17th century; and the Plains of Abraham, an urban park that was the site of a major battle during the Seven Years’ War.

Quebec  is also famous for its winter carnival, which takes place every year in February and features ice sculptures, music, and other fun activities. With its stunning scenery, rich history, and vibrant culture, it is a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Canada.

Over the Christmas holidays, my son and grandson visited me from Winnipeg. Since they had never been to Quebec, we decided to go on a road trip there.

However, travelling the distance in one day proved to be exhausting. Though January is too cold for me to visit any places, I couldn’t refuse my only grandchild’s request to go. It was a fun day, but next time we plan to visit during the warmer seasons.

At night, strolling along the Historic Petit-Champlain Street with the snow and festive decorations feels like living inside a Christmas card. It’s truly magical.
